Low-dose vitamins create a different formulation challenge from high-inclusion nutrients. When an active is used at microgram or low milligram levels, small weighing errors or poor distribution can affect finished product consistency.
This is especially important for vitamin B12, vitamin D3 and vitamin K2 MK-7. These ingredients are widely used in multinutrient supplements, vegan nutrition, bone wellness, immune wellness and energy-positioned products.
Vitamin B12 is often used at microgram levels. If a near-pure B12 powder is added directly into a large blend, uniform distribution can be difficult.
Vitamin D3 is also used at low levels and may need careful source documentation, especially in vegan formulations. Vitamin K2 MK-7 is used at low dosage levels and may require attention to all-trans content, mineral compatibility and stability in multinutrient blends.
